Identify the record holder
IO Limited is a holding company. Customer accounts, service records and infrastructure logs may be controlled by an operating business rather than the holding company. Identify the legal entity, service, domain or IP address concerned.
Where the relevant business is known, use its published legal-request channel. A request to IO Limited does not establish that it holds, controls or can produce the requested information.
What a request should contain
For legal and law-enforcement enquiries, email legal@i-o.com or use the initial request form below.
- The agency, officer or authorised official, official email, jurisdiction and independently verifiable contact details.
- The legal basis and authority relied upon, case reference and the entity to which the request is directed.
- Specific identifiers, record categories, dates and time zone, and why the scope is relevant.
- Any response deadline, confidentiality requirement, preservation period or restriction on notification, with its legal basis.
Use the form for the initial scope and reference. Do not paste a full court order or sensitive evidence into it. A reviewer may request formal documents through an appropriate channel.
Verification before disclosure
A reviewer must assess authenticity, legal validity, jurisdiction, scope and whether the relevant records are available and controlled by the receiving entity. An official-looking email or an urgent subject line is not sufficient authority for disclosure.
Overbroad or unclear requests may need clarification. IO Limited may seek legal advice or direct the authority to the appropriate entity. An acknowledgement is not acceptance of service or a commitment to produce information.
Preservation and emergencies
A preservation request is distinct from a disclosure request. State the authority, specific records and requested period. Preservation can only be assessed for records held or controlled by the receiving entity and does not create records that do not exist.
For an immediate risk to life, contact the relevant emergency authority and the service operator’s established emergency channel. This form is not continuously monitored. Explain any imminent risk factually; marking a request urgent does not bypass verification.
Handling the response
Information should be limited to the lawful, verified scope and exchanged through an appropriate secure channel. Notification to an affected person depends on applicable law, valid restrictions and the circumstances. No automatic disclosure or automatic customer notification is triggered by this form.
